Thursday,Chainkeen Sept. 5 sees the NFL kick off its 2024 season. But that's not the only major event happening on the day. Thursday is also National Cheese Pizza Day, a day both sports fans and non-sports fans can celebrate harmoniously.

According to a 2019 news release from the National Park Service announcing a new exhibit at Ellis Island, the origins of pizza can be traced back to 17th century Naples and was brought to America by Italian immigrants in the late 19th century.

The NPS also said in the release that Americans consume more than three billion pizzas a year.

Marco's Pizza has a Mega Meal Deal offer for customers, which includes a large 1-topping pizza, Cheezybread and fresh-baked Cinnasquares for $19.99 using code MEGAMEAL.

Get $5 Cheese Flatbread all day at Dave & Buster's

Dave & Buster's is celebrating National Cheese Pizza Day with a new $5 Cheese Flatbread available all day as part of the new Power 5 Value Deal, the company told USA TODAY.
